Selected to audit 11.5 km overland conveyor design for
Koniambo Nickel Project
The
11.5 km, 2 flight overland conveyor system is part
of the construction of the Koniambo nickel smelter
unit located in the New Caledonia's Northern Province,
near Kone. Koniambo is one of the world's largest
and highest-grade undeveloped nickel and laterite
deposits. Xstrata Nickel owns a 49% stake in Koniambo

Selected to design 5 km ore conveyance for new Toromocho
mine
This
5 km conveyor must traverse difficult terrain rising
196m and back down 270m. The project requires route
optimatization and mechanical design including three
horizontal curves. The 1800mm belt width will carry
10,292 tph of primary crushed copper ore requiring
approximately 10,000 kW drives located at an elevation
of 5,000m.

An
8 km long jetty is set to hold 4, 1800 mm wide
belt conveyors each with a capacity of 6800 tph.
Designed to discharge iron ore and coal from 4
ships simultaneously, Mundra Port is India’s
largest private sector port and is the fastest
growing port in India. The port has grown today
to handle almost 10 times of the cargo that it
started with at its inception (1998). The port
is well set on its path to handle 150 million
tonnes of cargo by 2025 and become a major regional
transshipment hub.
